Eight Decades of Professional Authority
Founded by Royal Decree on 24 April 1946, the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors is Egypt's professional body for accountants and auditors — and the country's sole legitimate representative at IFAC. It is registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity under No. 554 (27 May 2007) and headquartered at its own property in 6th of October City, occupied since 2015.
ESAA operates in alignment with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), has adopted Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) aligned with IFRS, and runs a joint IFRS Diploma with ACCA (UK). Its Board comprises 15 elected members serving 4-year terms — chaired since 1996 by Hazem Zaki Hassan.

Candidates also complete a minimum 3-year supervised trainee contract under a sponsoring ESAA Member or Fellow, or at a Registered Office. Exemptions are available for PhD holders and holders of recognised international qualifications such as ACCA.
Continuing Professional Education
CPD rules have been binding on all active ESAA members since 1 January 2009, overseen by the CPD Committee.
