Reducing the period required to audit joint-stock companies by five years
A chartered accountant must register with the Ministry of Finance as an accountant under training, and after three years of training in one of the audit firms obtains a license number to practice the auditing profession. However, the auditor cannot audit joint-stock companies until another five years have passed after obtaining the license number to practice the profession.
When you obtain the Society's membership, you can then start auditing joint-stock companies immediately. Begin registration and training at the start of your career, obtain ESAA membership within three years, and save a full five years of your professional experience.
Registration in special registers under the Society's membership
Practicing the profession on a wide scale requires acquiring significant experience and registering with certain official bodies so that the chartered accountant can audit certain types of companies of economic importance to the state. Therefore, chartered accountants always seek to register with the Central Auditing Organization so they can audit state-owned entities. The chartered accountant is also keen to register in the register of the Central Bank of Egypt so that they can be appointed as an auditor for one of the banks operating in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Likewise, registration in the register of the Financial Regulatory Authority is considered one of the most important professional registers that enable the chartered accountant to audit companies listed on the Egyptian Exchange and other companies subject to the Authority's supervision.
One of the most important conditions for registration in these registers is the ESAA membership certificate. Therefore, once they obtain the membership certificate, ESAA members can apply to register in these registers after completing the other remaining conditions.
Exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA
Many accountants and auditors, ESAA members and others, seek to obtain international certificates and qualifications to expand their areas of work and employment opportunities, including the ACCA certificate. In 2016, the Egyptian Society of Accountants & Auditors (ESAA) signed a strategic partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), under which an ESAA member receives exemption from a number of the qualifying exam papers for the ACCA certificate. This has contributed to a large number of ESAA members progressing and passing the qualifying exams for ACCA membership.
