The Society's Standards Committee monitors developments in the profession worldwide and ensures that the Egyptian accounting and auditing standards keep pace with global developments and address problems that may arise in the local market.
The Standards Committee is represented on the Higher Standards Committee at the Financial Regulatory Authority, which is responsible for approving draft standards and submitting them to the competent authority for official adoption and issuance.
Through its members, the Standards Committee also holds technical seminars in coordination with the Cultural Activities Committee to ensure the dissemination and understanding of the practical aspects of existing and new standards.
The Standards Committee receives and responds to inquiries from ESAA members and fellows regarding general problems in applying the accounting and auditing standards for which no specific treatment is provided in the issued standards.
