The Examinations Committee works to achieve the following objectives:
Designing and developing examinations:
- Collaborating to create and review the examination content that accurately reflects the knowledge and skills required for the profession.
- Ensuring that the examination conforms to industry standards and the educational objectives set by the body.
- Setting standards and policies
- Setting evaluation criteria, passing marks, and other relevant standards.
- Setting and updating policies related to the administration, security, and conduct of examinations.
- Quality assurance:
- Implementing measures to maintain the integrity and fairness of examinations, such as preventing cheating and plagiarism.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the examination process and making recommendations to improve it.
- Selecting examination setters:
- Selecting or supervising the selection of examination setters.
- Ensuring that the selected examination setters adhere to ESAA's standards and requirements.
- Reviewing and analyzing results:
- Analyzing examination results to identify trends, patterns, and areas where trainee accountants may need additional support.
- Using feedback from examinations to improve the quality of future assessments.
- Continuous improvement:
- Participating in an ongoing review of the examination processes and content to keep them up to date with developments in the profession.
- Collaborating with subject-matter experts to incorporate new developments and best practices into the examination materials.
- Supporting candidates:
- Providing guidance and support to examination setters, such as providing resources for examination preparation and handling inquiries related to the examination process.
- Appeals and complaints:
- Handling appeals and complaints related to examination results or the examination process, ensuring a fair and transparent decision.
