Examinations Committee

The Examinations Committee works to achieve the following objectives:

Designing and developing examinations:

• Collaborating to create and review the examination content that accurately reflects the knowledge and skills required for the profession.
• Ensuring that the examination conforms to industry standards and the educational objectives set by the body.

1. Setting standards and policies

• Setting evaluation criteria, passing marks, and other relevant standards.
• Setting and updating policies related to the administration, security, and conduct of examinations.

1. Quality assurance:

• Implementing measures to maintain the integrity and fairness of examinations, such as preventing cheating and plagiarism.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the examination process and making recommendations to improve it.

1. Selecting examination setters:

• Selecting or supervising the selection of examination setters.
• Ensuring that the selected examination setters adhere to ESAA's standards and requirements.

1. Reviewing and analyzing results:

• Analyzing examination results to identify trends, patterns, and areas where trainee accountants may need additional support.
• Using feedback from examinations to improve the quality of future assessments.

1. Continuous improvement:

• Participating in an ongoing review of the examination processes and content to keep them up to date with developments in the profession.
• Collaborating with subject-matter experts to incorporate new developments and best practices into the examination materials.

1. Supporting candidates:

• Providing guidance and support to examination setters, such as providing resources for examination preparation and handling inquiries related to the examination process.

1. Appeals and complaints:

• Handling appeals and complaints related to examination results or the examination process, ensuring a fair and transparent decision.
